WHO ARE WE

The Greater West Michigan Ministerial Alliance, Church of God in Christ, Inc is a group of pastors and ministers who are constituted of those saved (John 3:3), duly licensed and ordained male Pentecostal preachers of the Church of God in Christ in the Greater West Michigan area.

We practice obedience to the doctrines of God’s Word. As a non-pastor (licensed and/or ordained) he must maintain good standing with his Pastor and local church, faithful to the work of the Lord.

The Greater West Michigan Ministerial Alliance, Church of God in Christ, Inc (The COGIC Alliance) members heed the call to be a prophetic voice for our communities and our country. We share an understanding that grace gives both the responsibility and the courage to challenge systems of injustice. The COGIC Alliance members reject cynical strategies that would use the moral authority of the Black Church to build power for political leaders pursuing an agenda to further impoverish the most disadvantaged. Together, they raise their voices in pursuit of the broad vision of justice. All are advocates for public policies that support this vision.   The COGIC Alliance, 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, enables us to participate in election-related activity, including the support of candidates where permitted.

The Greater West Michigan Ministerial Alliance, Church of God in Christ, Inc celebrates the historic role of the Black Church as a place of refuge and a source of strength in the midst of oppression. The COGIC Alliance believes churches are called to be centers of caring and action, and that religious leaders are called to lead by example. Since 1897, members have answered the call by giving pastors and ministry lay leaders tools and access to mutual support for strengthening congregational and community participation in civic life.

The Greater West Michigan Ministerial Alliance, Church of God in Christ, Inc, operates as a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Michigan, exists to enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve.
